Hotel Amathus Beach Hotel in Limassol Cyprus - for the perfect family vacation

We stayed at the Amathus hotel in Limassol, Cyprus for family holiday vacation. Although we were a bit feared that it would be cold at October, we enjoyed perfect warm sunny weather conditions. We looked for sunbathing vacation with activities for children, and we found excellent recommendations on TripAdvisor  for the hotel, recommendations that have proven themselves! and we decided to indulge too warm recommendation.  Cyprus is a slight jump of flight time from Tel-Aviv, an hour flight to Larnaca, the capital city. Limassol is 40 minutes drive from the airport through the main highway, and the hotel is very close to one of the city's first interchanges.

The hotel is a luxurious 5-star hotel deluxe. We were greeted warmly, and the service throughout our stay was above and beyond.: through the reception staff, cleaning rooms staff, waiters in the dining room and around the swimming pool, lifeguards, room service and kids club staff - everyone always gave great service with a smile, patience and warmth. Made an effort to know the names of the children and their attitude was always smiling, warm and gave a homey feel. The hotel has free WIFI.

The room

Spacious and luxurious room. Included a huge double bed plus a huge sofa bed for the kids. Also LCD screen, we came with a laptop and an HDMI cable easily connects to the screen. In the bathtub waited for us and the kids bathrobes. Every day we recived service of fruit basket and bottled water. A pleasant surprise was the hotel on "Night Service" where every night the cleaning staff arranged the rooms again, replace towels, put chocolate delights beside the beds and even took care to deploy a small rug beside the bed and put his slippers on. A real treat!

The Beach

The hotel has a private quiet and charming beach. There is an area dedicated to families with children, with games for young children. Down the beach there are more variety of options for water sports and motor boats. Another option is to  PADI diving club located nearby.

The pool we used the most - the children's area. Children pool is divided into toddlers pool, and a children's pool, and includes slides. Our children aged 4 and 7 enjoyed the slides and activities for children around the pool. Limassol City also offers a water park not far away, but for the age of our children we did not need it because they so enjoyed the hotel pool slides and children's activities all around the pool.

The children's club and activities for children

The children's club is without a doubt one of the highlights of the hotel. Adjacent to the pool is the kids club accepts children up to age 12, and entry is prohibited for adults! (Unless accompanied by toddlers up to age 4). Our children separated from us with great fun and spend hours of fun in the club. Club instructors included four responsible instructors, very warm to children, and although they did not understand the language, our kids loved them and communicated with them perfectly. The club operates from morning until 7 pm (except an hour break for lunch), and includes a program of activities varies daily: crafts, baking, face painting, Wii games, dances, and movie with popcorn time at the end of each day. The club complex has a huge jamboree, our children enjoyed playing there every minute. Each child received a gift on the first day included a personal backpack water bottle, goggles and a water gun.

Some evenings there was a program activity for children & parents, we enjoyed magic show, and Lego building activities.

Meals

Excellent meals as expected from luxurious hotel, included a buffet with a variety of dishes.

Breakfast was excellent buffet with chefs preparing us eggs by personal choice, freshly squeezed orange juice, coffee preparation personal choice, chocolate drink for children, bottles of champagne, pastries of all kinds, vegetables, cheese, fruit, sausages, pancakes, Belgian waffles, and more ...

Noon diversity of luxurious dining room buffet, and ordering a meal from the hotel menu, which also features a children's menu (chicken fingers, hamburgers, pasta, chips ...). Buffet lunch included a variety of meats, fish, pasta, salads, and desserts.

The hotel has several restaurants where you can eat in the evening, as well as a lavish buffet in the dining room and on the hotel terrace. The menu concept changes every night. We ate buffet of Italian-style. Dinner accompanied singer performed live. The buffet included every good Italian kitchen dishes, included  Chef preparing pasta personal choice, a variety of pies, meats, pastries, salads, fish, and indulgent desserts.

Close to the hotel, on the main street there are several restaurants that can be option for dinner. We also went to the Marina which is 20 minutes' drive from the hotel, charming marina with several restaurants and cafes.

 Spa Center

Spa offers the most varied menu of massages, facials and cosmetics, body treatments and more. Luxurious spa and treatment rooms are decorated huge prestige. I experienced a Thai massage which was performed very professionally. Worthwhile! After the massage you can relax in the spa's relaxing area, drink tea or fresh juice. Adjacent to the spa, there is an area with some free to use - the indoor pool, hot tub and dry and wet saunas .

The hotel is highly recommended for a luxurious family vacation!
